About this Event
On 30 April 2026, the Fundació Miró Mallorca will host a new edition of International Jazz Day, an initiative promoted by UNESCO and created by Herbie Hancock to celebrate the transformative power of this musical genre. Under the banner “Miró & Jazz”, the event highlights the connection between Joan Miró’s art and the genre of jazz, both of which are rooted in creativity, improvisation and freedom of expression. The programme includes: • A performance by Tocabemolls Jazz Band, made up of young musicians from the Escola de Música Ireneu Segarra. • A screening of the documentary Blues for Miró, with Duke Ellington and Joan Miró. Sessions: 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. A cultural event that brings together music and art to promote values such as freedom, equality and dialogue.
