With over 200 attractions , the fair offers something for all ages – from classic rides and tombolas to bars, traditional stalls, water rapids, and even laser quest. Long before it became a funfair, it began as a small market linked to Palm Sunday celebrations and the public veneration of the relic of the Santa Faç (Holy Face) , kept at the former Monastery of Santa Margarida in Palma de Mallorca . As crowds gathered to visit the relic, local vendors began setting up stalls selling religious figurines, ceramics, dried fruit, and traditional toys such as siurells . Over time, the number of stalls grew so much that the market spilled out into the surrounding streets, gradually evolving into what became known as the Fira del Ram. By the 19th century , mechanical attractions like the first merry-go-rounds appeared, delighting children and marking the fair’s transformation into an early amusement park. Throughout the 20th century, the fair moved through various locations in Palma as it expanded, eventually settling in Son Fusteret , where it is held today. While the fair has grown and modernised, its roots remain closely tied to community life, childhood memories, and the traditions of springtime in Palma – making the Fira del Ram both a historic and much-loved annual event.
